“This symmetrical composition— the same motif appears at the beginning and at the end— may seem quite ‘novelistic’ to you, and I am willing to agree, but only on condition that you refrain from reading such notions as ‘fictive,’ ‘fabricated,’ and ‘untrue to life’ into the word ‘novelistic.’…

Time

ticks by; we

grow older. Before

we know it, too much time

has passed and we’ve missed

the chance to have had other people

hurt us. To a younger me this sounded like

luck; to an older me this sounds like a quiet tragedy.

"Our greatest lessons arise from our darkest experiences. When we open our minds to that truth, we are able to view the experiences from a different place; a place of peace, acceptance, and understanding. At that time, we rise above and see that there truly was no darkness, just a cloud floating in front of the sun, and that the light was always there. Freedom comes in expressing gratitude for the lesson, allowing it to flow through us knowing that it too was necessary for our eternal progression."

- Leyla Hur (via internal-acceptance-movement)

I feel this and I wish I could feel it all the time. But sometimes I just want to say screw this zen bull, sometimes pain is just pain, darkness is darkness and i don’t want to just be thankful for the lessons. Sometimes I just want to dwell in the fact that I went through this mess and came out the other side for the better or worse. And maybe it’s not over and I can’t just find divine acceptance and peace…I can just deal with the punches as they come. One by one. Each not necessarily less painful than the last. Sometimes I just want to dwell in the darkness.

"We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men; and among those fibers, as sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects."
